This week goes to Australian rock band Black Mustang, with features on both Greek and Make It Or Break It.
This week goes to The XX, after an appearance on Grey’s Anatomy, they have racked up 4 song placements across 5 shows (Grey’s, OTH, Lie To Me, Mercy, 90210). The UK band’s debut album X is out now.
This week I’m singling out Kate Earl, nearly an Artist of the Week back in October. After appearing on Vampire Diaries this week, the Alaska native has now had 4 different songs across 4 shows.
This week goes to Florence & The Machine. While they did not have multiple appearances this week, they have been featured 3 consecutive weeks (Grey’s Anatomy, Vampire Diaries, The Deep End). With one of my favorite albums of 2009, this act is really picking up steam and now has a total of 6 appearances on 6 different shows.
Artist of the Week goes to Ingrid Michaelson. Thie week “Are We There Yet?” was featured on Make It Or Break It and “Everybody” was featured on Grey’s Anatomy. This brings her total this season to 7 placements over 6 shows. Runner up this week was Gary Jules. He had placements on Private Practice and Life Unexpected.
Artist of the Week goes to V.V. Brown. Her appearance on Brothers & Sisters this week brings her total to 3 shows. I wanted to single this UK artist out because I enjoy her blend of R&B, Pop and Soul.
This week’s crown goes to Canadian band Metric. With the placement of “Stadium Love” on House they have now had a total of 5 tracks from their latest album Fantasies featured.
It was a slow week, but I have chosen French girl group Plasticines as my Artist of the Week. They were the featured band this week on Gossip Girl. It’s not often I see an all-girl rock band so I had to show them some love.
This week’s most played artists include Gomez, Karlie Bruce, The Black Keys and oddly enough Nat King Cole. Since I have been a Gomez fan for sometime I’m going to play favorites and give them the crown, since they had the same song featured on both Flash Forward and 90210. Head over to their Myspace to check out “Airstream Driver”.
The was a tie for most appearances this week (ironically, both are solo artists with band names) between Bat For Lashes (Grey’s, VD) and Dashboard Confessional (Cougar, OTH) ) but I’m giving this one to Bat For Lashes since this brings her grand total to 4 on the season.
